The new year is upon us! Doomsday averted and with the year of the Water Snake kicking off on the 10th of February, we are once again fueled with excitment for what the New Year will bring. Lots of new friends and business colleagues and inspiration around every corner. With Design Indaba 2013 nearly here, you can feel the creative energy buzzing in The Fringe today. We are spring cleaning the studio in preparation for the busy year ahead. Here’s to a creative 2013! Jo-lene
Made At Home Handicrafts was one of the 36 Western Cape Craft Enterprises to receive financial assistance through the DBSA Jobs Fund, made possible by the Cape Craft and Design Institute. Under the programme, the DBSA Fund covers 80 percent of the intervention costs, with the craft enterprise, namely MAHH, contributing 20%.
Through this initiative, we managed to purchase 4 new industrial sewing machines for our new Sewing Studio based at The Hostel, in The Fringe. This project will roll out over a 3 year period with a MAHH Printing arm following in 2013.
Sonja Van Zyl featured, giving Maxwell of MC Thompson a big Thank You hug for installing the brand new sewing machines.

MAHH participated in the India International Trade Fair that took place in New Delhi in November 2011. This was my first visit to India and these images were taken during my time there. Patrick
