Made At Home Handicrafts was one of the 36 Western Cape Craft Enterprises to receive financial assistance through the DBSA Jobs Fund, made possible by the Cape Craft and Design Institute. Under the programme, the DBSA Fund covers 80 percent of the intervention costs, with the craft enterprise, namely MAHH, contributing 20%.
Through this initiative, we managed to purchase 4 new industrial sewing machines for our new Sewing Studio based at The Hostel, in The Fringe. This project will roll out over a 3 year period with a MAHH Printing arm following in 2013.
Sonja Van Zyl featured, giving Maxwell of MC Thompson a big Thank You hug for installing the brand new sewing machines.
